Any idea on the next date for the PVP Basic class? I need to start taking them and would like to go through all of them in the correct order. I'm like a fish out of water and am starting to lose too many ships. It would be great if yall could post a basic agenda for when you are attentively looking at doing courses. Also, would like to know if any of the instructors are willing/able to do some 1-1 training for some isk..... or is this not allowed.

Regarding contracting Agony instructors for 1:1 training, we don't currently offer such a service.

Guys, the faculty of the PVP University is behind the scenes (or a thin veil of forum permissions) working VERY hard to bring you the classes you want to see. That list consists of the classes we are pretty sure about. Until a signup thread is posted, even those are subject to change. Real life reigns supreme and things do come up. Bamar may decide we're gonna go POS-bustin' down in the south or hunt as a massive group out in drone space, any number of things can come up. Point being, we're an active PVP corp first and foremost. If the corp needs to spend time moving assets to a new staging area for our newest vacation across EVE, if the corp needs to spend its time focusing on internal tactics development for a weekend or two... guess what? No classes. Now, we'll try to keep these interruptions to a minimum, because we REALLY LIKE TEACHING you guys and passing on the things we learn. It's honestly just about all I do these days (I miss shooting things. QQ), and I enjoy it. So, if you don't see a class on the list, trust me, it's being worked on. You'll see it soon, and with this list up you'll actually have a LOT of notice to prepare. Give thanks and don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

in these strange places you don't have to drive 10 hours to some overpriced hotel in the middle of some no-cell-phones-ever-work-here zone to get some skiing done, go figure

First I think I speak for all the students and potential students when we say thank you kindly for the trianing service you offer. I look forward to my turn with enthusiasm and dedication.

But, while I'm something of a newcomer here, I've noticed a few trends, and because I wish to increase my association as well as to help out, I want to mention them. I hope you take these the right way -- there's no offense intended:

I'm very good at following the rules, both in ability and desire. I"m here to to learn so I know you're bringing the expertise to teh table; not I. I realize it's not a democracy too. I don't want any gifts or favors, so I'm happy to pay $7m or $14m or $50m for your services. If the price gets too high, I'll shrug and walk awy but I won't b angry.

That said, some of this isn't obvious. It wasn't clear to me that There will always be a posting in the forum for each open class with the words [OPEN] in it . That's all it took for me to get that major question fixed, but that simple, obvious datum wasn't apparent. Looking back, I can find it, but I'm not slapping my forehead about it either.

Next, even knowing this works out very well for me -- I do want it to be fair, even generous, to you as well, and I most assuredly don't want a gift or special treatment. So when I or others ask questions, it's not to interrupt you, or out of a lack of respect, or even because we didn't read this VERY carefully indeed. Most of the time, it's to help us follow orders better. And, if what I'm told is true and the average beginner class is open only 6 hours before it fills, it's info I need in quickdraw position. Please accept my appologies for asking distracting questions when you're peforming other corp duties. Just know that it's not intentional -- I don't know your private schedule -- and your posts all emphasize we should "Come Prepared". So that's what I try to do. I imagine my brethern do too.

Finally, this is the only post I can recall off the top of my head that didn't say that classes were wholly a royal pain. This is the first I recall that said you love to teach them! Bravo! I would humbly suggest that you do whatever's necessary to make these classes you teach a delight for yourselves, and perhaps a little less cryptic for your students. I for one would be glad to contribute cash if that would help. I don't want to feel that I'm acting oafish or intrusive if I ask basic questions of you.

Last thing: I have written this sort of thing for a living. If you would like, I'd be glad to prepare a precis that covers the rocks and shoals I enountered even in my short association here. If I'd had this report in hand, most of my questions would have been answered. Would this help? If so, it would be my honor to contribute in that way.

Thanks for your input Sanpaku! As you may have noticed, I recently posted up a number of new FAQs (which are now stickied at the top of this forum). Various PvP U staff have collaborated on the content of these, with the aim of making it that much easier for prospective students such as yourself to find out what they need to do and how exactly things work. Having said that, they are by no means complete! If there are things you think are missing in them, or that need highlighting further, let us know! The best way is probably using the Q&A thread, which is also stickied, but alternatively you can PM me or if it's a substantial amound and you want to write it up in a more complete form, you're welcome to start a new thread to explain the problems. I want these FAQs to provide the answers that you guys genuinely need. If they can do that, then they will not only reduce the workload on us, but they will hopefully make the whole experience easier and more pleasant for the students too! Based on your post here, I have added a section to the signing up FAQ which explains the class threads and the [OPEN]/[CLOSED]/[PRE-ENROLLMENT] prefixes in a little more detail, hopefully that will help to prevent confusion in the future! Take a look and let me know if that's along the right lines. If there's anything else you feel could be added, please let me know!
