[INTEREST CHECK] WEEKDAY PVP-BASIC

What this means:
The materials for the class must be read before hand. The lecture portion of the class will last about 2 hours and there will be NO time for you to try and catch up on reading during class.
*Questions will need to be asked in fleet. Not over Ventrilo. AGONY members can answer those questions there while the lecture continues.
*Portions of the class that are usually practiced during the lecture will no longer be practiced. Instead I'll explain them and if you have questions the staff will clear up any confusion.
If there is enough interest in weekday classes you will begin seeing them on a regular basis.

Well the theory part is basicly done as an "audio"-log of what's written on the wiki. Cutting out all the practical training and the roam afterwards kinda kills the reason for doing the class ingame.
Portions of the practical will not be practiced - some will and I didn't see any mention of scrapping the 0.0 roaming part.
Ripard has taught Basic many times - he knows what's important to practice.

why not do both? weekdays and weekends...
I don't think we're considering stopping the weekend classes, just trying to gauge whether there's enough interest to make weekdays viable.
I would absolutly love a weekday course, as saturday classes are hard for me to join, stuff always comes up on the weekends, and i like to spend saturdays with my GF.
Might i suggest though, maybe instead of shortening it, offer it in 2 day segments. Maybe like Wensday evening and Thursday evening. Theory on wensday, and roaming and practice on Thursdays. Just an idea, but either way i absolutly love the idea of weekday classes!
That's an interesting idea, the main problem I can see is it means students have to be available on both days (although the practical can be skipped and you still graduate, it really shouldn't be!).
It would also mean that all the material from the theory part is no longer fresh in the student's minds, which could be an issue both from a learning perspective and a 'trying to keep everything running smoothly' perspective.
Having said that, it has its merits and it works for non-eve related courses, so it could be worth considering, although I'm not sure it's on the cards at this stage.

I would certainly be unavailable, but Teg is more than capable of running these things.
In the words of Lazlo Bane, I'm no superman. I can't run them alone. =)

Once you've paid for and attended a class, you have permanent access to all the materials and a permanent invite to that class. It's helpful if people can sign up on the thread to say they can attend as an alumnus, but in practise, people just turn up and what's another bloodthirsty pilot between friends...?Would there be any special dispensation to allow those who complete a weekday course free or easier entry into a standard weekend course?
Alumni are welcome for either the seminar or the practical (roaming gang) part, or both. There are several people who make it a habit to turn up to the Basic for example. There's no cheaper fun to be had than a T1 frigate roam with 50-100 other people.
Calling it Primary, so you don't have to.
