Just want to give everyone a heads-up that we have closed recruitment of US timezone players for now. We've had a lot of new recruits lately, so want to make sure that everyone gets well settled before we bring in more new guys in that TZ. Anyone who has already posted applications will still be considered, but we will only be accepting new applications in Euro or Aussie timezones. Fear not if you're in the US though, recruitment will be re-opened in the near future.

DOH!

To think I held my application until after class knowing that I could have submitted it earlier... the difference a weekend can make. Guess it's time to get caught up on some projects.

Don't despair, the US timezone just want to make sure all the current recruits are given the best experience possible, before opening up for more people.

What I'd suggest in the meantime is to try to sign up for Basic again as Alumni, or get onto Wolfpacks, then some of the other courses.

Taking Basic as an alumnus is an excellent suggestion. I won't speak for anyone else, but I know my first time out I probably didn't get (I probably didn't hear) half of what the instructor or fleet commander told us. I picked up a lot of additional tips and information the second time.

In addition, if your very first real exposure to voluntary PVP (in the sense that you went out with the intent of getting into a fight as opposed to simply getting tackled and blown up while you were ratting in lowsec) was Basic, you're probably still not over the buck fever you had. The more you PVP, the less nervous/excited/jittery you'll be, and the fewer mistakes you'll usually make.
