Seabees - that's a construction group isn't it? I spent 10 years in the RAN (I'm an Aussie). I was a Navigator/PWO.
Indeed the Seabees are the US Navy's construction force. I was an Engineering Aide. I did drafting, surveying and quality control testing. I spent time in both Guam and Spain. It seems like a million years ago

I think it has something to do with knowing your teammates know how to fold their underwear in a perfect square.
I like this guy can we recruit him?
Bazman: I anticipate we will have a number of people who are rubbish at battlecruisers/life

Good Job finding us. A couple suggestions if you haven't done so already.
1. Join the ingame mailing list for classes, helps ya get a heads up for when classes open.
2. Join the Agony Unleashed University ingame channel, I know I pop in sometimes when on even when class is not running.
As above:

Your in Redondo Copter? I used to work there, lived in Hermosa at the time. That's like the only good little area of LA.
Yep
I lived in Hermosa for 12 years before buying my house in redondo. I bartended my way thru college working at The Pitcher House on PCH. You know the place? Met my wife there also. She's a Hermosa native.

3. Download EveMon, EFT, and set up Sisi if you haven't.
4. Sisi is the test server, what is pretty cool about that especially for new players is that everything costs 100 isk. So it can be an interesting place to try out expensive fits and ships.
5. Bout all I got. Although Engineering V, Electronics V very key for fitting a ship. I'm sure everyone has an opinion on skill training planes... Hull Upgrades and Shield Management for more Structure, Armor, Shields is always nice...

Thanks for the tips, I hadn't heard of Sisi before.
I certainly welcome all skill planning suggestions. My current plan is very bohemian. I set my skill section to show me all available skills. About once a week I go to a station that sells all the books and stick anything that looks useful to combat in my head, then dump it in an EveMon plan. I've been doing the lower ranks of everything on the theory that 5% here and there on different things quick will bring me up faster than deep training any one skill. I do that for a few days, then I work on a learning skill for a few days. I've almost got my third learning skill to level 5.
Hull upgrades have sure come in handy for all sorts of uses. Although, the tech 2 variants of the hull upgrades are 4x as expensive as the ships I put them in 8)

Look into the advanced learning skills - you still get one attribute point per level, but level 1 is only an hour or so compared to a few days for level 5 on the basic learning skill - you only need level 4 on the basic to start the advanced skill. Only drawback is that they're a little expensive ( a few million each).

14. Presence III (13 hours, 18 minutes, 15 seconds)
15. Focus IV (3 days, 3 minutes, 35 seconds)
16. Clarity IV (2 days, 8 hours, 26 minutes, 49 seconds)
17. Presence IV (2 days, 22 hours, 33 minutes, 31 seconds)
18. Focus V (15 days, 23 hours, 10 minutes, 21 seconds)
19. Clarity V (12 days, 16 hours, 6 minutes, 19 seconds)
20. Empathy V (4 days, 2 hours, 14 minutes, 57 seconds)

I don't really intend to finish off this whole plan straight through (so boring just doing learning skills). I spend about 3 or 4 days a week working on it.

That turned out to be a huge tip. I only had Engineering II before. Just taking Eng to III was huge for me. I'm going to max both Engineering and Electronics asap. Thanks

I've been doing a lot of thinking about my game goals and skill plan the last couple of days.
I would like to spend the majority of my training in the electronics category and specialize in target jamming. I have a high level of interest in EWAR, and jamming in particular looks like a fun way to go. Does this seem viable? I have other interests if there isn't enough demand for this, or if it's already too popular.
Get your core skills first. You can't do much if you can't manage your capacitor and fit your modules. Then some tanking (Caldari generally shield tank), then concentrate on a speciality.
Then you'll want to go with Caldari ships and the skills Electronic Warfare, Frequency Modulation, Long Distance Jamming, Long range Targetting, Signal Dispersion, Signal Analysis and Targetting.
Eventually you'll probably want to fly a Falcon/Scorpion/Rook, but for now the Griffin, Blackbird and maybe Kitsune would be a good short term goal.
There's lots of whining on the forums about the Falcon being overpowered. there hasn't been anything happening yet, but past experience shows whining leads to nerfing.
