Yes, I believe the research is titled "Growing an economy de novo, an empirical approach" by E. Stavros Blofeld (I believe his mother was Greek). The prize was actually awarded for the first chapter of his work: "Constructing a de novo economy". Considering how successful he has been, I eagerly await his next installment!
