To forum mods: feel free to move / redact this if the public section is deemed inappropriate for this.

Today, my former corpies and friends in Agony were kind enough to allow me to roam with them in tweed if I was willing to bring my own pipe. For those that wonder what my dress sense and smoking habbits have to do with it, I'll briefly explain: TWEED stands for TWin EnginE Deimos and is a fleet concept around dual-prop space dildo's ships called Deimos. More can be found here: www.evealtruist.com/2012/03/introducing-tweed-gang.html . Anyway, I joined the Agony fleet of 9 Deimos, 2 webbing Loki's, 1 tackle Proteus, 5 Oneirosses, 2 command ships, 1 Phobos and 2 skirmish inties in my own Deimos in 6-C in Syndicate, and we were soon on our way.

First stop was 0T-AMZ. After only a short wait, V.e.G.A. was kind enough to form up a battlecruiser based gang, but never managed to break our tanks, so quickly deagressed, netting us 3 BC kills for no losses. With a second bubbler, we would have probably gotten more kills. http://www.agony-unl..._related/83904/

After some fruitless poking about, we had a short bio break in VSIG-K and some local banter with some people from Ineluctable. They were low on numbers but promised 2 hours later would work better. Unfortunately, we never really got around to that, sorry guys.

Th FC decided that sov 0.0 might get us some more attention, so we headed north into Cloud Ring, where we stumbed onto two fairly random Assault Frig kills: http://www.agony-unl..._related/83905/

Onwards into Fade we went, poking our noses into a fairly busy L-C307, bringing local up to about 104 with our gang, mostly Fatal Ascension, hoping to get them to form up. It was however shortly after that we got intel on what sounded like a Goon AHAC gang of about our size behind us, including 4 guardians, command ships, T3, and the works. This could be a good fight, so our FC bravely ordered us once more into the breach. We headed back into X36Y-G, and hostiles landed on us at the L-C gate. A Goon Malediction and an FA Merlin were quickly killed, but after this, it became a complete stale mate, where the only things smoldering were our overheated guns and our drones due to a smart bombing Damnation. Targets were switched, but logistics did not budge on either side. After almost 5 minutes of this, our FC ordered a deagress and tactical retreat: sticking around in CFC country while fighting Goons to stale mate with 80ish FA next door and potentially many more CFC just a jump bridge or 2 away probably wasn't going to remain a stale mate for much longer. We moved at speed though several systems in fade, making sure we kept some eyes on jump bridges, before we felt comfortable enough to slow down again. Still, gf Goons, gf! http://www.agony-unl..._related/83920/

This short burst of speed landed us into Pure Blind, and it was around the time where wives get close to put an end to a night of space ship escapism. It is that magic moment where anything can happen, when you can make a mistake and miss out on a great kill, get completely whiped out or stumble into a great fight.

We had just repaired our drones and guns from the fight with Goons in J-CIJV when a skirmisher reports a Get Off My Lawn gang, about 20ish in fleet and with a very mishmash composition, passing though G95-VZ. For a small corp like Agony, it is hard to know exactly how the inner wheels of the CFC are turning, and if there is a concerted effort to 'trap us' after escaping from our fight with Goons, or if this is just a completely random fleet passing by who has no clue we are there, and any decision by the FC is really a random stab in the dark. So he asks for an X in fleet for who is up for a fight knowing it can potentialy be a trap, and fleet chat scrolls rapidly with X's, followed by:

So we start the persuit and with them now in ROIR-Y on the G95 gate, we send the HIC in, bubble up and wait for aggression. After that, we pile in and get to work, spreading points and scrams. I scram a Cynabal and almost get neuted down to a pulp by both Cynabal and Curse, and my small NOS only allows me to keep the scram and DC going. Our HIC goes down hard, and he cycles down his bubble to get reps, but the reps just fail to land in time and he pops. I get primaried next, but logistics are on the case and I never get below 60% armor, and quickly am back to full armor. Targets are dieing left, right and center, and very little manages to escape. Finally, all tackled ships die, with their Broadsword popping probably only seconds before he can deaggress, and we start to quickly loot the field, with a hostile Loki looking down on us at a TAC about 200km from gate. And at this moment, on of our skirmishers answers his true calling by landing a tackle and surviving long enough for us to warp up and finish off the Loki as well. It was the cherry on the cake and resulted in the following pretty sweet battlereport: http://www.agony-unl..._related/83926/ gf Lawn, thanks for going for it.

With our cargo holds full, the killboard padded and wives in "hovering mode", we start heading back. Hilariously, our ex-HIC pilot gets a loaner inty from a corp mate, only to loose it on the undock of the kick out station to some station camping Thrashers with us just 2 jumps out (http://www.agony-unl...l_detail/83928/), netting him a second loss for the evening and forcing him to fly home in a Vigil. Sorry buddy, but sometimes you're the statue, sometimes you're the pigeon, if you know what I mean ...

On our way back to Agony home base in PVH8-0, our skirmishers again prove their instinctual prowess by tackling a Noctis salvaging an anomaly, and holding it long enough for a second skirmisher to come in and tackle the Drake coming to save it (just missing out on tackling a Mealstrom) and for us to finish off: http://www.agony-unl...related/83931/.

A bit closer to home, we actually managed to cross paths with the Goon AHAC gang again in Poitot, but we both gave eachother space to carry on our respective ways. Not long after that, we arrive in 6-C, where I got unceremoniously kicked from fleet and told that if I want more TWEED fun, I should reapply to Agony. And so my night in tweed ended, as I made my way out of Syndicate though the Rebelier gate into low sec.

nice BR, as always. (your link to Azual has a "." at the end and thus doesn't work) and that Cynabal had my full attention as well, he was going nowhere :)

I'd also like to extend special gratitude to Dibbles for taking a few seconds off from That thrice damned dungeon crawler every minute to go through gates.

Glad you guys enjoyed the AAR, I reposted it on FHC for some more public exposure, hope you don't mind: http://www.failheap-...ll=1#post474821 BTW, after we avoided the Goon AHAC gang in Poitot, R & K did what they do and dropped some bling on them that did manage to outdamage their reps: http://eve-kill.net/...kll_id=13598327

I was the FC of the LAWN gang. Was a good fight, though we had our arses handed to us! I certainly wasnt happy with the Loki pilot afterwards  Sadly, its always a bit of a mission getting logi pilots to x up so we tend to go support light - if my intel would have been better we would never have engaged you with that amount of logistics. By the time you jumped into us I had committed the gang so had no choice but to get what we could..... and yer, i was only seconds from deagressing ! Goof Fight Agony, good fight. We'll get you next time ;)

Always a pleaseure :)

From our POV, you did a couple of things very well. First, you dragged us out of the system where we already had our boosters set up, so for the first minute or so, we had no T3 boosters running. You also primaried our Phobos who had his bubble up, denying him reps. After that though, I doubt you'd have been able to break our logis, so yeah.

Good fight, feel free to drop by Syndicate any time. We're usually not this well organized...

Good fight, feel free to drop by Syndicate any time. We're usually not this well organized...

This is a basic principle in Eve, and it's very counter-intuitive: a roaming fleet usually has the advantage over a home defense fleet. The roaming fleet has a good composition, has an FC, and is ready for action. The locals are docked, PVE'ing, AFK, and don't have an FC.

Most people don't think this through, believing that locals should win fights because there are more of them, they can reship to an exact counter, and they have home field advantage (eyes, bookmarks). Therefore a lot of unjustified ridicule is piled on locals when a visiting fleet wins engagements, or when locals don't form up a defense. Of course if both sides are patient, the locals can form up a defense, but it's often too blobby for the visitors to have a change against.

All I'm saying is, this ridicule is wrong and the people doing the ridiculing are stupid. And I'm posting this as a general statement, not about this particular fight. It's just a pet peeve of mine. Also, I'm jealous I missed the fight :)
