I think it would be great if somebody give us some info about how to actualy fit for this class, what ships would be more preffered for the task and so on...We got only one week for prep.I think the term is "Still not written."
Patience. It'll be available soon.
More tank? More gank? Speed tank or shield/armour tank?

I'm not writing the class material, but cruiser fittings tend to be more defined by your ship choice. Cruisers mostly break down into 3 general categories
Tank/Gank
Omen
Maller
Arbitrator
Thorax
Vexor
Rupture
Ewar/Range
Blackbird
Moa
Caracal
Celestis
Speed
Stabber
Now obviously there are different ways to fit a ship, but this is a typical breakdown.
As far as fittings go, ranged ships obviously fit to engage at farther range, relying on that to keep alive, while maintaining the ability to warp out. Moa/Caracal can do damage at far range while also contributing ewar such as damps/tracks with extra mid slots. Blackbird and Celestis should obviously fit to their strengths, using ECM and damps respectively.
Tank/Gank ships vary from one to the next, but generally you want to fit close range guns and a buffer tank. No matter what you do you won't be able to tank much damage with a medium armor rep, so it's usually best to forgo active tanking for a buffer armor tank involving plates(1600mm preferred, nothing smaller than 800mm is worth a slot), a damage control, and possibly an energized adaptive nano membrane or two. Damage modules, such as gyrostabilizers or magnetic field stabilizers, are also nice additions especially on heavy damage turret ships such as the thorax, omen, vexor, and rupture.
The stabber is a bit of a special case since it relies very much on speed to stay alive. For the purposes of the class it might be best to go with the rupture, since it fits better into general cruiser stereotypes. If you do fly a stabber then you want autocannons (T2 autocannons are very much preferred due to the barrage falloff bonus, which allows you to engage outside of web range), a microwarp drive, warp disruptor, and large shield extender in your mids, then a mix of nanofibers, overdrives, inertial stabilizers, and gyrostabilizers in your lows. Again, you can fiddle with the setup, but this is a good cookie-cutter setup to start from.
Biggest change from basic/wolfpacks is that cruisers tend to be a bit more specialized and benefit from being fitted for the strengths of the ship. For example, the stabber is a great natural tackler, so it doesn't make much sense to fit it with damps, when those damps could work much better fitted to a caracal that is engaging off at range. Also, remember drones!!! A lot of pilots who are moving up from frigates/destroyers to larger ships forget about drones, but they add a lot to gang. The default drone choice is medium/light damage drones (explosive or thermal are very much the best choices). As a rule 2 smaller drones are better than 1 larger, so on a vexor with 75 m3 bandwidth you would want 2 heavies(25m3 each), 2 mediums(10m3 each), and 1 light(5m3) instead of 3 heavies, or 5 mediums, or some other combination. Other options for drones are armor repair drones, which likely won't be of much use in these circumstances, or ECM drones, which are actually very effective and can be a fight-turner in smaller groups, but again in such a large fleet there will be enough dedicated ewar that they're not needed.
Again though, these are my own thoughts, and I'm not teaching the class. Rells could very well suggest something different

Just wanted to add my own personal views on to this in mentioning that this fact only applies assuming the drones are either all T1 or all T2. If you can use T2 medium drones for example, but only T1 heavy drones, then you'll get more damage out of 5 T2 medium drones than you will with 2 T1 heavy drones, 2 T2 medium drones and 1 T2 light drone.

Yeah, already spotted a few typ... *notices Rells has locked him as a target*
Not sure if this should be answered here for fear of spies but do you plan to keep the strictly Ewar cruisers in a separate wing(s) and use there potential range as a defence, with the WC warping them to ~100KM of the target points for combat and hopefully out of range of the bulk of enemies or will they be in with the rest of the fleet and should attempt to fit as strong a tank as possible since they will probably be primaries in every fight?
I would say that at the very least, ask such questions in the PVP-University Students forum

Generally you try to secure the EWAR cruisers with range. All of you should know how to TAM and should be prepared to do that to get the range you need. We will have agony pilots there in light fast ships to help.

I need to cancel my attendance for this class, I have signed up for the next advanced course in June instead as that will work better with my schedule. Please do not deduct my corp account, thank you
Would it be possible for me to take Josh' spot ? Currently I am signed up for the June class.
