Some of you may already know about this, but I figured some more popularity can't hurt.

For all the information see this link, but these are the highlights:

Who: You and anyone else that shows up.

How: Kirith will warp to a celestial (no station or gate) in Teshkat and tell everyone in local and the Ninveah channel where he is. Then they can come to shoot or support him. He will fight back but will not warp away for 30 minutes.

There will be prizes:
- Grand Prize for Final Blow on carrier killmail: Navy Armageddon Battleship

- Prize for Most Damage on killmail: Guristas faction Gila Cruiser

- Prize for Final Blow on pod killmail: Imperial Navy Slicer frigate.

- Prize for being on the most killmails: Ashimmu

Noir and Tactical Support Solutions Inc. have announced to come and defend the carrier, so more attackers will be needed.

Cool event It'll be interesting to see if any big boys with big toys show up. If it wasn't for me not wanting to waste my security status on it, I might have taken the opportunity to shoot at Noir ... provided their support fleet isn't cloaked of course.

Prizes a little underwhelming (about 550m total.) Either a mid-size or larger alliance will hotdrop him and claim all the prizes or he won't die at all would be my guess. If the idea is to entice individual pod pilots out for some pew, I can't imagine this working since I can't imagine a less fair fight than a few pugs against noir and cva with carrier support. Still, I prefer this to CCP organized 'live events' since at least it's player-driven. Might send a cloaky just for shits and giggles.

Yeah - as I understand it, "shits and giggles" was the original intention, with the prices just thrown in as icing on top, but admittedly the event snowballed a bit. However, there is no indication how many people Noir et al will bring, or that CVA will show up at all, so the outcome in my mind is far from decided.

Personally, I'll be there just for the fun of it, and maybe even some decent FRAPS footage.

Sorry, LL, I didn't see you question in time; but I wouldn't have had an answer either. In the end, the fleets were mainly composed of BCs and Logistics, with a number of BS and other ships thrown in; plus two carriers for the defenders. No capital hotdrop, unfortunately. As the defenders had about a 2:1 superiority, the attackers were repulsed and Kirith's carrier was in the end destroyed in a free-for-all. For me it was the first time taking a BS into a fight, and while it was certainly educational, I must say that I enjoy flying my glass-cannon Harbingers more.
