Yeah - I think that's just the quiz timer running out on you
Dont think so, craps out after #3 every time no matter how quickly or slowly I answer (and doesnt reflect missed questions as I tried answering incorrectly on purpose to check and still stopped @3) :/

I thought the mining barges were "ORE" (Outer Ring Exploration) => are they actually Gallente?
No one can blame you for not knowing a procurer; no one uses it since it can be out-mined by almost any cruiser... (I'm just 8 days of training from a piloting a hulk... please someone slap some sense into me...)
Hammereds seems to have memorized a LOT of the ship names/types. I'm impressed. I have to ask, did that come just from playing a lot or from actual studying?
Also, when on Basic/wolfpack roams listening to recon report list a ship that I don't know what it is, I often open the market toolbar search tab and use the "info" button next to the result to pull up an info box. I then look at either the description and/or the prerequisite skills tab to find out what type of ship it is.
Is there a faster/better way?
If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong.

That's how I usually do it - what you could also do is start typing the name in a text chat channel, then highlight what you've typed and right click -> autolink -> item type (I think that's the right one, can't get in game to check at the moment). Also, when on Basic/wolfpack roams listening to recon report list a ship that I don't know what it is, I often open the market toolbar search tab and use the "info" button next to the result to pull up an info box. That will give you a Show Info link you can click on (you don't need to actually press enter and submit it to the channel, you can just use the text box where you type things). You also don't need to type the entire ship name, it will search on whatever you type and provide you with a list of matches you can choose between.
Edit: you can also look up faction ships this way, which don't appear on the market

Per the quiz: "Note: As per the game backstory (and the CCP database this quiz uses), all ORE mining ships are considered Gallantean."
As the blurb indicates, I believe ORE is a corporation/alliance/whatever of Gallentean origin.

The above suggestions are good but my favorite is to have an EVEMon skill plan up with the Ships tab. You just type the name in the search box and select it. Works for faction ships as well. It does require alt-tabbing or a 2nd comp next to you though (I have the latter).

According to the background stories the ORE was Gallente corporation that has discovered the omgwtf riches of 0.0 and split from federation to go exploit them & they hired serpentis or guristas to protect them there, pay iskies to them for protection, I dont remember the details but it was something like that.I thought the mining barges were "ORE" (Outer Ring Exploration) => are they actually Gallente?
No, I spent my first month telling people in my gang that there is a Prophecy flying with enemy gang. Turned out to be an Absolution when we primaried it :@You mean everyone else didn't spend their first month in game just memorising all the ship names?

Man, I remember when they introduced destroyers and everyone thought they sucked. (What do you mean that hasn't changed?)
