Just for clarification, if I play primarily between 2300-0600(EVE) would I be welcome to apply? Aether mentioned players who are on around 2000(EVE) are still welcome. I ask because of the announcement thread saying that players in the 0000-0700(EVE) were no longer allowed to apply http://www.agony-unl...opic.php?126131 .

My playtime kinda falls into both categories, just wondering if I'd be wasting my time or not.

You'd fall into our US timezone squadron, which is currently close.

Expect recruitment to re-open in the near future though.

2300 EVE time is around 11pm for the Euros - time when they start signing off - so you'd be playing too late to be assigned to Alpha squadron and indeed like Bamar has stated would fall under Charlie squadron, recruitment for which is closed

Do you have to fall under specific squadron? Like, if you're assigned to Charlie you can't fly with Alpha?

No, all our members fly together freely - the squadrons are primarily an administrative structure based on the times you are most active.

If you happen to get on early or stay up late from time to time you will likely fly with people from other squadrons, but the people in your own squadron are the the ones you are likely to fly with most often.

For how long does the "introductory stage" last? Like, my understanding is that US TZ recruitment is closed because there's some kind of introduction procedure for the new members, and Agony has no available manpower in that timezone to handle that procedure for any more people. So, say, if i could fly in a different timezone for a week or two, but would have to revert to US TZ later, could i apply or not?

The probationary period tends to last 2-3 months.

That being said though US timezone will reopen "soon"

US time zone recruitment (00-07 EVE time) is open once again. But as Bamar has stated in his post if there are more applicants than Charlie Squadron can handle, it might be closed once again in a few weeks.

Hi all. :D I've been in EVE for quite some time now, and I'm looking for something more. I've been PVP/PVE/Mining for years, and it seems that every time I join a corp I am either driven out or it is driven apart by the drama and BS which Agony seems to loathe as much as I do. After watching the Agony mailing list, reading the extensive information on the wiki(thanks for that, it's a great read), and planning on attending several classes which end up conflicting with my schedule :@ , I thought I'd just buckle down and do something about it. AU looks like an awesome group of pilots and I think I'd really like flying with you all and getting tons of experience. My overall question is, how firm is the PVP-Basic requirement? I have every intention of taking one of these classes, and I really had my eye set on next Wed's class, but again I missed the registration deadline before it filled up. I have an alarm set to apply for the Jul 11th class this sat when enrollment opens, and I'm keeping my fingers, toes, and wires in my pod crossed(explains a lot, right? %-6 ) on that one. This PVP-Basic requirement is the only thing on the application form I don't have 100% confidence in, and otherwise I think I'd make a worthwhile addition to AU. I'm in no way an expert PVPer and would very much LIKE to take the class, all requirements aside. Would it be ok to submit an application with the plan of taking a near-future PVP Basic class, or should I wait until I've actually got that under my belt? Beyond that, is there someone I can talk to in the ranks to maybe arrange tagging along on another gang in the meantime, to get a feel for the crew and how things work? Thanks in advance, !lol -Kaal

Unless you have a good amount of 0.0 pvp experience already then the Basic is required. It helps us get to know you, makes sure that you have at least starting point for operating with us, and gives you a chance to see if we're really what you want in a corporation.

Hello to AGONY and questions about alt chars and timezone play. 1)If you have an alt in an NPC corp that you wish to keep there, does AGONY require you to disclose the name/API of that alt as part of the app process, or do you not care so long as the char remains in such a corp? 2)I typically play from 1300 to 2100 hours and often from 0100 to as late as 0800 hours, all current EvE time. Does this sort of split-hours play cause trouble with your squadron system? Thanks, and I'm looking forward to getting in on the next available PvP Basic course and hopefully app for AGONY after!

Hi,

1) We don't really care who your alts are. Frankly having someone who wants to keep secrets is more of a concern than who your NPC alts are.

2) The squadron system is an administrative thing to make sure that people are looked after and properly trained. You can fly with anyone, any time, on any operation. Squadron Admirals and Officers are there to check that people are getting the right resources/training/etc., to maintain some order in the corp and to make sure the administration gets done.

Should I be in a NPC corp during the application process or can I be in a player corp until a decision is made?

Either way is fine. You don't need to drop you current corp to put an app in.

You should probably drop roles, though

EDIT: Don't drop roles. Read Baka's post below for details

Please don't drop roles, there's plenty of time after you get accepted. It only takes 24 hours.

You may want to stay in your current corp if you're not successful, so there's no need to give notice to them if you don't want to. (think of it like a job application - you don't want to flag to your employer that you're leaving until you actually have the new job).

I submitted my application a bit over a week ago and haven't heard back. Just wanted to check that you were still processing it. It was for US timezone so I'm sure you have a lot to go through. Thanks!

I believe there was a bit of a backlog in application commenting/processing due to 4th of July holidays. Your application is still in the commenting subforum and will probably be the next one processed.
