We keep the schedule at the link below. Right now there are no basic classes scheduled. We will be returning to normal schedule after the tournament, so expect a basic class in late September.

But to prepare for the tournament we will be taking a break--not that it's really a break, the tournament is a huge amount of work--from having classes. Also, watch for our own TeaDaze as one of the official commentators during the tournament.

Lorn, in theory providing the reading materials outside the class would be good but the reality is that they don't even come close to replacing actual practical experience. They reading materials are designed to go hand-in-hand with the class, they aren't really designed to be standalone.

Sure sure, that makes sense. However, I wasn't thinking "this can be almost as good as taking a class" so I'd save money. Instead it was more of a "I'm going to be in potentially dangerous waters for about a month with little or no guidance and ANYTHING would be better than nothing" sort of mentality, at least until after the tourney. But, if you don't feel it'd be worth the time/money without the class, I'll defer to your judgment.

Sign-ups are usually 2 weeks prior to the class. We've been pretty swamped with tournament stuff so things are a bit behind right now.

I wouldn't expect too much before the tournament ends......all of our admin staff are busy, either training or supporting the team for the tournament. We've got several teams going to support the effort - different timezones, providing a team to practice against, etc.

Plus all the logistics and everything else that goes into fielding a team (I don't know how NOIR managed to get a team to even show up for round one as they got literally a couple of hours to prepare - and it kinda showed in their performance which wasn't great - but Kudos to them for even getting there).

It's a big effort and takes a LOT more than the 10 pilots who actually fight on the day.

We'll get threads up and send out eve-mails as soon as we can - the tournament completes in a little over a week. Keep checking back over the next week and make sure you're subscribed to the mailing list. Threads go up at least a few days before enrolments open.
