Anne Bonney, a notorious pirate in her own right, told her husband, Calico Jack Bonney, as he was captured by pirate hunters,
“if you'd have fought like a man you needn't hang like a dog”.

* Caldak. Calm, assured, aggressive in all the right places. When he talked, all doubt just dropped away. My heart rate never went up particularly, even when the crap was hitting the fan. Told us exactly what to expect, and exactly when to expect it.
* TeaDaze. Great instructor! Didn't rush, paused frequently for questions, paused frequently for breaks, covered the material really well.
* The AGONY scouts. They did their jobs really well! Told us just what we were about to fall on and kill.
* Primary and secondary target calls. We didn't *always* get them, but we got them often enough to stay coordinated. Particularly in that first fight against the COW cruiser gang, new primaries came along each time the old one went down.
* AGONY organization. This could easily have turned into herding cats, but I was damned impressed by how organized each portion of the class and the roam was. Excellent, excellent work!
* I got pieces of at least 10 kills!
The bad:
* Changing the location of the class 8 days before the class. That was uncool, guys. I had to rush a bit to get my ships and JCs moved from Nonni to Teonusude.
* The Goonfleet battle. Things kind of came apart a bit. Caldak forgot that he was leading a class -- which was good, don't get me wrong, it showed he had confidence in us! But he did forget he was leading a class and he split us up, which I think was a mistake. He called squads 3 and 4 to support the tacklers, but since we weren't coordinated, we arrived in ones and twos and that got us torn up pretty good.
* I was the first or second to die in the Goonfleet battle and I didn't get any kills there.
The ugly:
* Getting doomsdayed. Hee! Great stuff, though. Those beasts need their own scary theme music.
* I forgot to warp out when I was targeted in the Goonfleet battle. Doh! My blood was up. Had I remembered, I might not have been killed so fast. :shy:
I'll be back as an alumni, and I'll be back for Wolfpacks! Great class!

That said, relocating certainly did make things more lively. I've actually managed to die, twice... of course that was 99% because i got too careless flying in these gangs over time, but i "blame" increased activity too Still, it sure beats idle marches across 100 systems with no targets to be found... It was the most fun class i've been on so far. I keep being amazed by the dedication of the Agony support fleet, taking time to scout us pods back home after the fight was very nice. The debriefing chat in the end was very nice too, don't think i've seen it done before, but i think it's a cool feature to keep if possible.
All in all, an epic class, looking forward to the Advanced on 25th
I didn't need the spiral manoeuvre at all as I was never first into the fight (must remember to fit for longer range next time!), and it might have been useful if the students were given a chance to find a target using the scanner, even a fake target.
Spiral approach might not be as useful in a huge fleet like this, as you have little chance to be attacked in the first place, but it's very useful in smaller gangs. Directional scan, in my opinion, is a skill you can and should practice on your own; a lot of it depends on picking a good place to scan from (ideally, bookmarks specifically made for it) and your "aim".
Also, the class doesn't really last long enough for the practice part to make much difference, and if you're doing it wrong, instructor will have hard time correcting you because he basically doesn't see what exactly you're doing wrong, so it'd just be a crowd of people taking time to be on their own. You can always ask questions about that on forums, and are in better position to do it here too, because you can attach screenshots and/or diagrams to illustrate what youre asking about.

I think this class had been listed as TBA prior to July 4th for the location.I only accidentally learned that the class is actually meeting in Teon. I'm not sure, i might've overlooked that it was in Teon when i signed up for it, but i'm under impression that it was originally scheduled in Nonni and got changed afterwards. If latter was the case, it could use a little more warning, as i totally didn't expect that class location could change like that... Yea i know, check original post, but the original post is a huge wall of text and it's not easy to notice that something changed (especially if you don't expect the changes and therefore don't look for them). Maybe relocating classes to a different system could merit something more outstanding, like a new thread, and an evemail in AU_PVP_classes mailing list... (just don't create another sticky, regular threads are so rare in Enrollment forum that they actually stand out more).
The advanced class on the 25th had been scheduled in Nonni, however, but is now scheduled for Teon.

It was originally scheduled for Nonni, then changed to "TBA" then finally Teonusude.

First time as Primary instructor, I've taught sections for basic and wolfpacks classes before.Good class. I had no idea it was Tea's first time as instructor untill he mentioned it afterwards.
Thanks all for the excellent questions and hope to see you back as basic alumni and wolfpacks students
