For those of you unaware, Ripard Teg was sick and thus unable to make the class last night. We will be picking this class back up at some point in the future when an instructor is available and schedule permits. For now, those of you who paid for this class may use the money spent towards other classes or request a refund by PMing myself, Spinward or Bamar. I will, later today, be creating a section of the credits thread dedicated to those of you for whom this applies. If we offer the class at a later date, these credits will apply just like any other class credit. If you opt to use the funds for another class or request a refund, you will need to pay for FLYBYS should you sign up again at a later date. My apologies to those of you affected by this little snafu, but real life comes first and shit, with unfortunate regularity, happens. If you have questions, post them here. The FLYBYS thread is locked.

So this means the class is cancelled, not rescheduled, right? There may be a couple of differences. Rescheduled means those subscribed are still subscribed and payed for whenever the class will happen (whether the teacher will be ripard or not). Cancelled means we need to re-subscribe to a FlyBy class whenever it will be announced and pay for it again (eventually using credit from this class). Also note that this class was initially announced before you changed your policies and prices. Edit: spelling. Plus note that I agree with followup posts: I'd prefer it to be rescheduled rather than cancelled.

I was unfortunately not able to make it myself either, so it doesn't change much for me. I'll just hold my credit for a next time. Hope you feel better soon Ripard!

Personally I'd much rather you hang on to my isk and reserve my spot on the next session, whenever its offered. Deferring the session because of Real Life issues is unfortunate, but outside of anyones control and completely understandable. Cancelling the session puts us all at the mercy of signups again, and that would sting because that is something that you do have control over. Please don't cancel the session - reschedule it. If it needs to be rescheduled a long time from now, that's cool, just give everyone the option of a credit if they need their isk back that badly. That's my .02 isk. Oh, and a special thank's to Nero Prime for stepping up and FCing an informal roam last night. (That goes for the Agony support as well.) ziglot

I agree with Zig..... Please keep the registration current and I will come to the next availability of Flybys...... And ditto to Nero for FCing last night. I had a blast even though we didn't run across much. The lake can't always be stocked to the hilt with fish. More practice is always good!

I'm sad I missed the apparent fun you guys had the other night. Had a 1M isk Charon to insure, blow up, and profit from. I do thank both the Agony guys and attendees though on the convo we all had about Apoc changes...esp the stealth bomber stuffs. I hope Dago did not mean adding a T to Ripard's name. RL always comes first vs ships in fake space. Besides Ripard rocks so STFU if that was meant. On that note: Ripard I hope you feel better m8. I do agree with the other posts however. If there is a possibility to get us all back in the next FlyBy class versus leaving it for the dogs, I'm all for it. It was a pain enough signing up in the beginning. Xena also votes for auto class aggro with acknowledgment being received in a reasonable time for next scheduled class. Either that or I'll happily auto-join the next covie class

Another thanks to Nero Prime for FCing last weekend. A tough night with limited targets, but it was very interesting listening to
the agony scouts reporting and the FC deciding between different options. Would tag along again anytime Nero wanted to practise FCing.

Ok, here's the way this is going to work. Because I don't want to piss off every administrator I have by creating what is in effect individual "accounts" on the credits page, each and every person who paid for the FLYBYS class and is credited properly in that thread will be credited for a FLYBYS in the future. This credit will be treated like any other credit, and your ability to apply that credit towards anything else will depend entirely on the admin of the class in question. The class is canceled. Period. At some point in the future we will offer this class again, but it is not on my radar right now. I don't have an instructor and I don't have staff capable. When I have those things, the class may pop back up. When that happens, you can sign up like any other student and use your credit to attend the class. Now, before the whines start about that last point, please remember that the classes Agony offers are a community service. None of the instructors or administrators make a single ISK by doing what they do. When the load becomes burdensome to the point of affecting the enjoyment people get out of the game, I'm not about to add more load. PVP-U is currently in a state of dialed-back capability. We can offer a lot more than we are, but are choosing not to in order to do internal training and keep the edge as PVP pilots, to say nothing of backing away from the point of burn-out. If you'd like to see more classes, have the patience to wait a little bit while we get set for another boom like the last two months have been.

Hey guys, We appreciate your participation and ask for your understanding. We would like to re-schedule the class but just can't do it right now. We've determined that the best way to handle this is to cancel it outright. Unfortunately, the downside is the inconvenience to you. The upside is that by keeping admin streamlined AGONY is able to keep offering courses month after month year after year. Cheers

It was absolutely not meant. And actually I didn't even realize the implications of the error until I read your reply (not being a native speaker this sort of things do go past my immediate comprehension, especially when they involve slangy terms).

Let me get back to you on that. I don't see why we can't extend the credit further if that's acceptable, seeing as we haven't run the class. Otherwise refunds seem to be in order for those that want them. We're definitely not here to rip people off, so a solution will be found that will involve you having an opportunity to take the class or getting your ISK returned. I'll follow up for you.

The training I've taken has worked out very well in game, in fact I hope I get to redeem myself in COVOPS with Agent Dogfire - I have finally figured it out without "vapor locking" under pressure Kaz

I'm working on a more general "long range" seminar, aiming for running a public class in mid November. It will likely cover most of the material of fly-bys but apply it to sniping HACs and HSLR gangs.
