Quick question, when do we get access to the Reading materials, my access to the Internet for the next week or so is Limited so I want to have a chance to Read them stuff 2 or 3 times as well as What to bring on my Punishers for the class.

In the first link, at the very top right under the title in red letters, it says:

Please Note: Full access to reading materials will be granted 1 week before the class.

Which would be around tomorrow, or thereabouts.

There's good info in all the stickies.

Ill be flying an Incursus but there seems to be 2 "recomended" fits with minor differences (i e. blasters or rails).

The second link is the way to go.
Seriously, take rails. With 150 - 200 turrets pounding on the primary it will pop before you get in range with blasters. With 50+ ships DPS is no issue, so priority should be on enough CPU/PG/Cap for your midslots (EWAR).

Our instructors periodically go over all wallet payments and update at that point. They'll update the thread once they've verified it.

In the PVP University/Basic there is a mention to "the naming conventions of bookmarks", but these are never mentioned again the the basic material. I take that this is outdated info. Isn't it?

Another question, could we know in advance the general area where we will be flying?. I'd like to print a couple of 2d star maps to better know where we are.

Another one. I have installed vent and tried it but couldn't change channels once I logged to the agony server, so I couldn't check the audio. I'd like to try vent at least a day in advance so that I have enough time to get a better micro for example if things don't work properly. Would that be possible?

Another one. Configuring the overview, it says to set up 8 columns including "Alliance" and "Corporation". This takes quite a big chunk of screen. Are all of those overview columns really needed? For example "angular" seems useless to missile ships and I fail to see the usefulness of the "alliance" and "corp" tabs, (but I have never been to 0.0 so I may probably be wrong). Could you confirm which are the columns we should have in our overview?

Another one. In configuring the overview we are advised to "turn on all of the color coding and most of the icons". Doesn't all of this affect lag?

Final one. I was once told that we should set the channels and mails to "blink off" as the blinking affects the performance of the client (lag). I found no reference to this in the material of the course. Is this nonsense?

After attending 3 three classes I can answer the first two questions:

1. The bookmark article can be found here. During the three classes I visited we never individually jumped to a bookmark but were gangwarped or warped ourselves to FC/skirmishers in the watchlist. But the info in the article is valuable nevertheless.

2. The regions you'll be flying in are Pure Blind and maybe Fade. Deklein is in the vinvitity as well... I would print it out as well... just in case

Right ... you won't be able to change channels on our vent server, for the class we'll drag you to the appropriate channel.

Generally, if we see someone waiting in the lounge, someone will jump down to check in on you in vent. Usually people will start checking vent the day before a class, as well as earlier in the day on class day.
