Sorry to be a pain, I've tried looking for an answer before posting but to no avail (I hope I haven't missed the answer): I have a couple of combat toons that are each specialised in different areas (Cov Ops, Interdictors and Frigate hulls) and would like to take each through their specialist area at some stage. Do I need to take each character through PvP basic to learn the next step? From a practical perspective, I can see how running 2 accounts at once through basic could detract from the practical part and let down the fleet.

We teach you, not the toon so when you finish basic/wolfpacks you can fly any of your toons in more advanced classes. We don't want any dual boxing in class so that you can focus on learning.

And just to expand on what Spin said, your registration is tied to your forum account, not your ingame character, so as long as you use the same forum account it shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever.

Hi,

I might have missed it somewhere:

The preparation course material is usually available how many days in advance ? I have the following error message when I try to access it:

--------
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group ensign.

Return to Main Page.
---------

Best regards,

See the big red writing at the top of the Class Preparation FAQ!

Access to reading materials is granted 1 week before the class!

I think we need to make that part blink :')

Sorry to come to the conversation late, but I just faced the same problem as the OP. Repeating this info in Signing Up for a Class / Class Accounts FAQ might work better than making it blink -- that's where I went looking for it, since "access problems" associate closely with "account problems" in my head.

Done.

Once I sign up, when do I get access to the reading material? Do I really need to read it?

Full access to reading materials will be granted 1 week before the class. Make sure you are familiar with all the required reading before the class, since this will not be covered in the theory section and both your instructor and your FC will assume you have learnt it!

I tried to post a request in the corp account creation thread regarding a transfer of credit. Ive paid a 90m credit for a corp account creation but have since jumped corps. The only person in the corp credited at the moment is an alt of mine. Id like very much to attend a class but don't want to cause a confusion regarding payment/credits. I posted in the corp account creation thread, but I think it may have been miss placed. How can I go about making sure the funds are transfered accordingly? relevant linkage http://www.agony-unl...c.php?153836.40 (for class signup) http://www.agony-unl...ic.php?4900.100 (for account credit transfer)

I'm assuming that your alt is CEO or a director of the corp in question. Please send me an Eve-mail from that character so that I can verify the transaction. Once I verify that the funds are being transferred appropriately (no offence, but it's best to check) I'll arrange for the new corp to be credited.

(even if you haven't accepted CEO/Director role - if the corp count is one, that's good enough for me)

Eve-mail received from CEO of LAMBE....notation made on corp account that these funds are for the exclusive use of theodore.

Edit: I've actually transferred this to a "Closed Corp Accounts" section and the funds are now registered under your name. The funds will be available to you exclusively. When enrolling, make a note that it's closed corp account. The LAMBE account is effectively closed, with zero credit.

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this subject, and in general :) I am wondering about the next (october 10th) PVP Basic class being offered. It's based out of Gallente space, is it not? My standing with the Gallente is a lot less than satisfactory, would I not be targeted and destroyed by the Gallente NPCs (-5.81 effective standing), and would that jeopardize my participation in the class?

Challenger, short answer is yes, you're going to have problems. Most of the first four hours of the class is in and around Stacmon. It's always possible to create an alt for the class, we've had people do that many times before, the skills required are few (and listed on the class info page).

A few thoughts

1) If you haven't already, train the Diplomacy skill, it makes a big difference with improving negative standings.

2) I'm pretty sure you won't be attacked until you get under -6.0

3) It's not an issue to attend the high-sec portion of the class with an alt, then switch to your main once we reach low sec space.

I have got diplomacy to level 3, and I will look into getting that higher. But I believe I shall create an alt for the high sec portion, and I have read the skill requirements. It seems as if you can do it with a trial account (as not to cut into the main's training time). Thanks for the speedy reply. EDIT: The one other question that I have is this: How do I go about enrolling (obviously when the time comes) if I'm going to be switching characters for the lo-sec portion? Do I just put the alt character?

Bring your main along in a pod, or via lowsec, and have him meet us at the lowsec destination after the theory part (your instructor can let you know where that is).

You can then use a pretty much unskilled alt for the high sec portion. The one thing you might need for this bit is an afterburner, depending on whether they choose to do the spiralling practice in high sec or not.

2) I'm pretty sure you won't be attacked until you get under -6.0

It's -5.0, I found that out the hard way. Twice! :P

Are you saying that you transferred money from your corp wallet? Or that you want us to take the payment from your corp's account (which is money we already hold, for that purpose).

If it's the latter, what you should do in future is note in your enrollment post that you're paying with '#### corp account', otherwise we don't know to take it off!

Hello, I am wondering if being in a corp that fights for a militia faction will cause problems when doing a class ? Maybe I should leave the corp temporarily?

Hello Some of my mates have attended courses in AU, and said that after participating in the war (the great ER war), the basic course did not teach them anything new. My question therefore is: Do you have a kind of competency testing policy, or do I have to start from basic, no matter how long have I been in the PvPing? The other thing I wanted to know is, if you give out FCing classes as well, or as a part of the course, and such.

This is not a problem, and you do not have to leave the corp. The only difficulty may be if you are KOS in the space where the class starts (e.g. if you're amarr militia and the class is in Teonusude, that's a problem). If this is the case, the best tactic is to use an alt for the theory section of the class, and have your main meet us in nearby lowsec.

We don't run any kind of competency testing; subsequent classes don't require you to be a better pilot, they just assume you already know everything from the BASIC class, and thus the best way for us to be sure you know it, is for you to have actually taken that class.

It may seem like a bit of a chore, however the BASIC class is still pretty good fun, and at the very least you will learn how Agony operates (rather than how your previous alliances operate), which is quite important if you're going to be flying on our gangs in future.

FC seminars are run as a seperate class, typically based on demand and availability of instructors.

I love attending BASIC classes and I learn at least one thing every class/roam so you're mates must be pretty good PVPers ;)

This is by no means an "official" announcement but we are looking at offering a "turbo basic" course later in November or December that will target experienced players, move at a considerably faster pace and cover t2 frigates (with the current t2 frigate changes, it won't happen until after the patch though). The spectrum of what people learn in our current basic class is pretty wide. For some it's 100% new, for others it's nothing new at all. I understand how your mates felt, basic class was kinda a disappointment for me. But I'm really glad I came back and took wolfpacks and advanced, they were definitely worth the time spent in basic.

This is probably a stupid question but, when do you pay your class fee ? after you posted in the signup thread or after some kind of confirmation ? I signed up for the 10 okt one and I think I didn't make it since I failed to reload the thread before posting and thus posted a signup after ScrewedUp said "That looks like it. Thanks" which I take it is a sign that the class was filled up.

I'll be processing enrollment later today and you should know if you have a spot. You can wait to pay until after you see you have a spot, that way you don't carry a credit with us. When I put those closed posts up, it's usually a very rough count, so it's possible that there are still spots.
