Just out of curiosity, I dont know if I am in the class or not, I dont see my name on the list as of yet please let me know if i am in or not. If there isnt room for the pvp part I would like to sit in on the lecture. I have been told that there is so much info that you almost have to go twice to absorb it all. i have several friends that have gone through the class and I want to see for myself and learn some stuff too.

The class filled up about a week and a half ago and signup was closed at that point. Unless you've made some secret arrangement with sanfrey, I think you'll probably have to wait for the next one.

Thanks Rox! It doesn't really matter (and the reference to including war information in registrations was removed a while back actually.) The mechanic that made all gang members valid war targets was changed back in Trinity. Zanzabez - the 20 point, all-caps red text saying "No further registrations" and the "[CLOSED]" in the subject of this thread are your first and second clues! But stay subscribed to AU_PVP_CLASSES, we're about to post the booking thread for the next class, which will be run on Dec 20. cheers!

How do you handle it when someone has to eat a meal while the training is going on? This class is going to start at 4:00 in the afternoon my time, and my wife usually has dinner ready around 7:00pm. Tx! (Sorry if this has been asked/answered before.)

Yup thats what I did during mine. Try not to do it during the lecture though, missed answering a question because my mouth was full of food. =)

First let me make 100% clear that I don't expect anyone else, in the class or instructing, to go out of their way for me, nor for any special treatment. If I miss something, I miss something. So be it. I was just inquiring about alternatives.

You see, I lost 80% of my pancreas a few years back and, as a result, now have fairly severe diabetes and other complications. I can't just eat a plate of just anything, as I have to have fairly balanced, healthy meals. I can't even eat a snack of anything without a bunch of preparation crap. My wife usually gives me a 7 minute warning before dinner is ready because that is about how long it takes me to get ready. So you understand why, before eating I must:

• Wash hands.
• Prick my finger and take a blood glucose meter reading.
• Add up the amount of carbohydrates I'll be consuming at dinner.
• Enter the reading and the carbs into my insulin pump in order for the pump to calculate and give me an insulin bolus through a small tube.
• Record all figures on a spreadsheet which I FAX to my diabetes specialist doctor weekly.
• Open an alcohol pad and clean the top of bottle of another injection I must take before eating. (Interesting enough, this prescription is called "Symlin." LOL. Yes, that's where I got the name.)
• Load a syringe with 20 unites of Symlin and give myself the injection of it.
• Take creon capsules (and several other pills) I must take before eating as my pancreas doesn't produce digestive enzymes any longer.
• Dispose of syringe and bloody alcohol pads in a special bio hazard container.

((If you think that is boring to read, try doing it several times a day, every day.))

Then, finally, I can start eating.

So, if I'm lucky and don't have to take a leak, maybe I could get done in 15 to 20 minutes, but 10 minutes would be pushing it. I'll try to get her to fix something more conducive to eating at the computer.

I guess, if we are fighting by then, it won't be much different than getting popped and having to catch up with the fleet from a station in a new ship.

Bloody hell, Symlin, I certainly understand your problem. What you do then is to warp to a safespot and log out. If you, at your 7 min warning, make a safespot, warp to a safespot and move in a relatively random direction, then log out, then you are safe as can be while you do what you must. Then, when you are back from dinner, get on vent first, then ask how the situation is in the system you are in. Given the reason for going afk, you should be able to get one of the nice and capable Agony covert ops pilots to go to the system and check it out before you log in again. Or, in case the class hasn't gone too far, you may be docked in system with the rest of the class doing some exercises. What I mean to say is - it isn't impossible to go AFK for 20-30 minutes, you just owe it to yourself to do it right. Kath PS: Diabetes is not fun, nor is it something to joke about, so you bloody well better do what you need or I will ask for your wifes phonenumber and call her to sympathize with her!

Great Class last night, I was going through some of the killmails, and I can't help but laugh at this one. Say, I've got a question about Basic PvP. In the preparation the instructions said we should NOT bring Frigates with any Astrometrics bonuses. Why was that? Thx!
