A good friend of mine who recently got me addicted to this game suggested that I check y'all out about learning the PvP side of the game. I have been reading around the forum and realize that with it being summer that your group has a lot going on outside of the game, and therefore it may be a little while before the next PVP Basic class becomes open. Also with how quickly these classes fill up I may not even get into the first available one. Taking those things into consideration, I have a few questions about being a prospective student, and what y'all might suggest. For starters I've already joined the mailing list in game, and I monitor this board daily, are there any other places I should be looking for info on upcoming classes. I already have all the basic skills required for the class (based on the info on the wiki), but since I will have some time before the next class what other skills would you suggest a newbie learning (and to what levels) to be able to perform better in class. (I'm a Jin Mei Gallente, so I have a heavy focus on Drones, 916K current skill points in it) One of the optional prep steps is to get a jump clone in Nonni. Considering that I'm only 2 months into the game I'm not familiar at all with Jump Clones, but what I read was that I have to have a +8 standing with the corp that owns the station I'm trying to set one up at. Being that I'm Gallente, and my current corp is the default for me Federal Navy Academy, do you have any suggestions on how to get my Jump Clone setup in Nonni. Being a Gallente I lean towards the Incursus for my choice of Frigate. Do you have any suggested loadouts, or alternative frigate to consider? Any hints/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Currently I'm just running around in doing Missions trying to build up ISK.

You should be covered with new classes between the mailing list and watching the forums. As far as skill training goes, focus on the skills that are useful across all ship classes, things like engineering, electronics, navigation, etc. Play around with different ship until you get a feel for the types of ships you like to fly and start specializing in those. As far as a jump clone goes if you can get the required standing with any corp then just make a jump clone there, fly to nonni and then jump back to the jump clone you made. You'll then have a jump clone in nonni. You only really need a jump clone if you have expensive implants that you don't want to lose. As far as frigates go, the incursus is ok, the maulus is a very nice ship too. As far as fittings, they're covered in depth in the course material, but basically medium range weapons, speed/damage in lows, AB, and ewar in mids.

Sounds like you're well prepared. You can join the AU_PVP_UNIVERSITY chat channel in game and post questions here. As to skills training, if it says something like Propulsion Jamming 2+ then train up the +. I wouldn't suggest going for level V, but 3 or 4 wouldn't hurt. Train your support skills - navigation, engineering and electronics groups are excellent choices. For Gallente, training drones skills won't do you any harm. Jump Clones - I'll get back to you on that, I'm investigating something that may be of use.

Jump clone need 8+ personal or corp standing to get...

What the 'or corp' part means is, you can join any corp (who will let you), who has a corp standing of 8+ with a faction and create as many jump clones as your infomorph psycholigy skill allows for...I know for a fact, that Eve University offers this very service to new players...There are prolly loads of others corps who do it as well, but in E-Uni there are no hard feelings if you join for a week, get your clones and maybe take a class or two and then leave...

Pretty close.......it should read "who has a corp standing of 8+ with an NPC Corporation with Medical Facilites"

Some corps charge a fee for this service and EXPECT you to leave within a day or two.

You can also focus your isk mission running with one Corporation that has med. facilities in order to grind it out on your own. However the join a corp that has a corp standing is a much easier route.

You'll then have a jump clone in nonni. You only really need a jump clone if you have expensive implants that you don't want to lose.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly:
1) Gain standing with any corp to the point I can get a jump clone at one of their stations
2) Make jump clone at Station X with Corp X
3) Fly to Nonni
4) Activate Jump Clone at Station X

After all that I now have a jump clone that's available to me at Nonni, I'm back at Station X, and can continue on my merry way. 24 Hours later I can activate my jump clone at Nonni even though I may now have the standing with the corp that owns the Nonni station.

All of this though is rather a moot point because I don't have any expensive implants, therefore it's just as easy for me to take my shuttle and fly to Nonni, purchase my frigate(s) and outfit them there.

Yeah I'm a noob, what can I say.

Yep, exactly.

The only caveat is that the npc corp needs to have medical facilities in at least one of their stations.

I usually have my Rorq parked in Kinakka in Black Rise, so send me an in game mail when you would like a jump clone. Make sure you have Infomorph Psychology trained to level one please. There is an Eve charge of 100k that I can do nothing about, but otherwise I work for tips. Acobar

Incursus and Maulus are my favorite Gallente frigs. I actually prefer the Incursus, but Agony is obsessed with dampeners for some reason, so it always seems to turn out that I fly Maulus when I fly with Agony. :)

There will be classes soon, yes. We have had a large number of new pilots joining Agony over the past month and have been concentrating a greater-than-normal number of our resources on getting our newest members settled in and certified - but I expect we'll be posting new classes in the next few days.

Wow my classes were so long ago the link stopped working. Look I took a bunch of them ok? It was a long time ago. Just trust me on it.
