As long as you can attend the first chunk of the class which takes place in nonni(caldari 0.5) then it's fine.

Wouldn't that mean you're at war with the Caldari Militia too? Just noteworthy as classes are staged out of Caldari space.

Alumni can come along as long as they don't slow down the class at all.

The class was amazing, thanks a lot, guys! You do so much work for the EVE Community. The theory part was just amazing. Sanfrey is way too polite to people and really knows what he is talking about. He can also present material so well, I wish my college professors were nearly as good. Although the practice part tought me a lot of things about communication in large groups, I sure wish I could get more practice at shooting things So Im hoping to get into the next Basic as alumni or sign up for Wolfpacks if it ever becomes available. Thank you, Agony, for a great lesson

The class was great, thanks guys. Thinking back, Sanfrey commented that this was the first time the class had been run in this particular timeslot. Anybody alse think it is the reason for the absence of good targets?

Looking at page 2 of this forum, I see that the last two Basic classes before this were held at 16:00, and the previous ones in the Euro timeslot in 2008 started at 18:00 or 19:00. I attended several of these later-at-night classes and can say that each 0.0 experience was a very individual one. I saw everything from an almost target free space, to gangs set up for hunting the Basic class, or major blobs. It also depends on where you look for targets, and how the local gate gangs are structured; not all small gangs are class fodder, and some are better evaded by Basic classes, as the expected losses would be too high. Target evaluation and other advanced tactics and strategies happen in the Basic class mostly invisible to the attendees, by the Agony staff attending the class, and are tought in more advanced courses. And there is always a bit of luck involved - you do not always find a Navy Raven with minimal backup flying around, waiting to be picked up.

And a few weeks ago, the Wolfpacks class got Doomsdayed by a Titan because we pissed some people off. You never know your luck in a big universe. I expect we'll see more targets as people return from their summer break and the weather gets colder in the North. Ironically we're experiencing the coldest winter and best ski season in many years downunder.

Main problem lately has been with the BoB invasion everyone is bunkering down. The number of roaming gangs in the area has dropped significantly with both the GBC and NC sitting in their respective systems, only fighting each other every now and then. Without an invasion going on there's a lot more small gang activity. I was hoping that by going up into Deklein we could get ourselves in the middle of a big fight and go home with a cool story, but instead both sides decided to stick with their game plan (which is perfectly understandable, if a bit unfun). All in all the number of targets depends on a ton of different inputs, only a few of which you have any control over.

Query: Is it possible to attend these classes if you're flashy..? I got my low sec status cause I started my days as a tackler for a gang of gate campers in low sec (only had about 1.2 mill SP at the time), only took a weekend tbh, but grinding back has been too much work so far...Still, I feel confident I have a lot to learn in pvp, as gate camping and nuking smaller ships with 5-10 large ones doesn't really take any skill... So in short, I'd love to come, but 100 hours of pre-class grind seems a little overboard...

The classes begin in Nonni, which is a 0.5 system I believe. You can always make an alt to attend the class with though, the skill requirements are minimal. Hell, you could probably attend the high sec portion with an alt, then switch to your main once we hit low sec.

was wondering why it doesn't say that I graduated from this class yet. Does this mean I not an alumni?
