I didn't know Eve keep old patch files in the root folder, until my old 80GB revodrive was full and windows was yelling at me for having 2MB free. Well, after I deleted all my .patch files in the Eve folder I know have 5GB back. I also was able to set the launcher to auto delete the patch files are use. You can do this by clicking on the tools icon (next to minimize), click on the patches tab, and select the last option. https://forums.eveon...posts&m=1896599 Yes, I'm sure some of you knew this, but it might help out a few of you reclaim some space on your SSD.

and on top of that I found out there is a checkbox to not show the launcher AT ALL unless there is a patch! Great stuff!!!

The first thing I think these days when I hear of a "new feature" is "how do I disable it?".

By and large Eve has done OK in not annoying me too much over the years with shiny (compulsory) stuff.

The logfiles are a PITA on FAT/NTFS file systems (no idea about Mac) as they typically eat up 50% more space than they need (minimum file allocation etc).

I love having them though, especially since they are just text files.
I've had quite a few situations where I am like "Ok someone said something reasonably important to me in a prive message like 2 weeks ago. Go Go GREP powerrrrrr"

Indeed but there has to be a better way of doing it other than spewing files all over the place every time you login? Edit - I still have chatlogs from 2009 (backup stuff). Draelor leading a roam with Caldak doing XO. How scary is that? Edit2 - and looking now it was Draelor's first roam lead with Agony and he got hit with some of the worst shit you can imagine for a new gang lead. Still funny though

I have the log directory set as a compressed folder, so it doesn't take much space.

I thought about turning the launcher off, but I do like leaving it on when I go to work. Then it downloads and installs any patches before I make it home.

The best way to reclaim your disk space from EVE is to just uninstall the thing
