Good points indeed and good approaches to handling the situation.
I'm not prone to smacking (much) except as a strategy (e.g., when the FC says too), but some of the light-heartted stuff can be entertaining.
Which is probably a good thing, as the corp I joined is at least as strict, if not more, about interacting with locals. I'm a personable gal so that will be a bit tougher.
I have noticed that in FW so far it's harder for me to distinguish between the trolls and the people who are actually misguided enough to believe their own smack, but maybe that's because I expected FW to be less infected with political BS and propaganda then 0.0. Sadly, I guess I was wrong.
Yeah, the people that believe their own smack are "interesting." I think that is a distinguishable characteristic of Empire smack more often then not. "Test level," smack, if you will, I don't even qualify as smack most the time because of its randomness. Sov wars etc.being a bit different, but in general.
I guess I thought of FW was more akin to rooting for a sports team -- and then there is the role-playing/militaristic element, -- which I am not sure how common that is anymore. In that light, I had hoped some of the banter would be improved -- from an entertainment perspective, if not otherwise.
You get some fun people in low-sec but with these kinda numbers, I guess it's like status quo Amarr on a good day. Too bad about the politics and stuff. I had heard that, it is unfortunate.
