Hmm. IIRC that time's going to be 15:00 EDT, if its only a couple hours I can probably give this a shot (I start work on Sunday evenings). Will know better this evening. I suppose an Intaki PI alt would be fine for this? He's not much in combat, though should be able to field the simple Velator fits above.

Past MMO experience (Second Life / Myst Online) does not influence interest in PvP.

Don't assume, ever.

I do like the auto targeter because it uses 1tf and 1MW while doubling lockable targets to 4 even though I leave it turned off.)

I'd lose that were I you. It isn't going to matter having another 4 targets as you'll be unable to do anything about the extra targets anyway. You only have one midslot so you can only hold/put ewar on one ship.

Can anyone attend? If so, you have me and my mates Velators too :)

One last fitting to salvage all the kills we are going to get!

[Velator, Salvager]
Expanded Cargohold II

Sensor Booster II

Small Tractor Beam I
Salvager I

Just like auto targeters (which I never turn on, but install so that I can lock twice as many targets), Salvagers have a secondary purpose for me. If I get called on to cyno someone in to a strange station, all I need is the cyno generator and the LO3. I can then use the Salvager and the combat overview to try to get the right 5 km standoff so that I don't accidentally bounce the ships jumping in.

Note that you need Cynosural Field Theory-V to cyno using a base rookie ship, though; if you have less, you'll need a larger cargo hold for the LO3.

This is true -- I'm too used to running solo (where the prop mod helps me close or escape, and the sig radius difference between an AB and MWD doesn't matter as much because any hit is likely to punch through armor and shields), and not used enough to Agony's Hydra doctrine.

New fav-of-mine fleet fit (just stashed one in Stacmon, now that I know that I may be here): [Velator, Low Sec - Roamer] Micro Auxiliary Power Core I Warp Disruptor II 150mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge S 150mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge S Warrior II x2

Okay everyone, I was hoping to be able to go through all the suggested fits and ideas here and decide which ones would be our suggested fits for the roam, but a storm is blowing through my area right now and I keep losing power every two or three minutes. I'm writing this on my kindle right now with power out - and trying to copy/paste on the kindle is frustrating, to say the least! So instead I'm going to just suggest that we balance out the fleet on the fly before we undock. We'll figure it out then. But basically the plan will be for some of us to fit points for tackling, those in fast(er) ships fit scrams and/or webs, those in velators fit for dps and carry two EC-300 drones for jamming, and everyone else fit the mid-slot item of your choice (damps in particular). So basically plan on flying the rookie ship of your choice, the fit of your choice, that you think will be most FUN for you to fly!

By complete coincidence, I have today published an article looking at the relative performance of each of the rookie ships in PVP: http://www.evealtrui...okie-ships.html Hopefully this should help some of you when selecting your newbie vessel of coice.

I got a question for you guys. Just checked my losses from the frigate roam on the 31st and found that I apparently lost an Impairor 9 hours ago - when I was at work and not logged on. I do remember leaving one at the POS in Poitot when I swapped it for one of the provided Rifters. My question is: If someone else got blown up in it, would I get a killmail? And does someone remember taking it from the POS maybe during the rookie ship roam? I am not particulary concerned about the ship or the killmail mind you, just interested if that's possible.

If someone else was flying it they would get the lossmail, but if it was just left in space and someone blew it up after the POS was taken down (which we did yesterday) then you would receive the mail. So basically somebody found it and blew it up after the POS was removed.

Nope, as soon as someone else gets in the ship he then "owns" the ship. However, after you eject from a ship in space it will keep being "your ship" as far as killmails are concerned. However, not for all systems. Because we once had the situation where a certain person was set blue to our corp so the POS wouldn't shoot him, but his corp/alliance wasn't set blue. I don't recall exactly how it happened. But more or less he left the ship and then the POS guns destroyed said ship. So what I assume happened. And i'm not totally sure on this. Agony reset the POS password, you don't have standings or the right password entered. Your ship got bumped out of the pos, and someone destroyed it.

I took the pos down earlier today, and there were three rookie ships floating inside the pos shields at the time I took it down. I actually meant to blow the ships up... but just as I scooped the pos into my cargo hold, local spiked, so I rushed to the station and got safe :) Would have been bad form for me to get blown up taking down the pos! Needless to say, I forgot to go back and clean up those pesky little rookie ships floating in space, littering the dscan results window... :)

Those are still there - somewhere! - in Poitot. They aren't mine (or Agony's) still not quite sure who the shuttles belong to!

For everyone who missed it, here are the 2 kills we got while in noob ships:

http://www.agony-unl...l_detail/79260/

Child was on his own and managed to bait this gang into agressing him on the gate with our noob ships on the other side. We promptly went through to help him out and managed to get the Claw scrammed and webbed long enough to take it down o/. We also had another ship in low armor (hull?) but couldn't finish it off. (Not sure exactly what happened as I got taken out just after the claw went down).

http://www.agony-unl...l_detail/79261/

4 members of the gang had been podded and woke up in Poitot with around 15 left in M2- (1 skirmisher, a couple T1 frigs, and the rest in stock noobships). At this time we had agreed to upship to frigates and were heading back to Stacmon. As the gang moved from M2- to Poitot we were followed by this vexor. As he kept up jump after jump we decided to catch him on the F67 gate in Poitot and had anyone who could upship in Poitot. As he came through we landed tackle and the noob ship blobbing commenced. We hadn't gotten much damage on him when the gate fired and a BC gang came in to help us finish him off and then proceed to finish us off.

Overall a great roam which you couldn't help but keep laughing throughout. Many thanks to Agony and alumni who showed up and made it a great April Fools day. And a special thanks to GG for FC'ing both the noobships and the small frigate gang that continued the roam (we kept at it for another hour in frigs catching a curse and rupture in a great fight (with some Agony help)).

Thanks for the AAR, Roddex. I'm glad everyone had fun. I think the results (90 total damage done by noobships on one kill (<6% of total) and 214 on the other (<4% of total)) are a good illustration of why my fit was best (and also of why I kept my ~60M ISK pod at home.)

I was pissed off when I got this lossmail http://eve.battlecli....php?id=9978930 I'd jettisoned the shuttle to grab some juicier loot by a low-sec gate and learned the hard way that unpiloted ships still generate lossmails. In a perfect world there'd be like a 5 minute timer and after that, no killmail.

As for POS mechanics, I'm 95% sure that POS' pay no attention to standings towards a specific player. Either you have the password or not and if you don't, either your corp/alliance is blue or not. I've tried to set starter corp alts blue and ended up having to offline the POS to save the Orca when my POS decided it was up for some blue on blue action.

If I took the POS down with only 3 noob ships there, I'd have gone back for them. But you know me, all sunshine and light, a team player through and through. Would I be on my leadership remap otherwise?

Enjoy. I'm 10 hours away from finishing leadership stuff, been on the remap since late last year. Bores the arse off you, it really does.

Back to per/will now thank gods.

Any more bonus remaps and I'm ignoring them, not getting sidetracked for another 5 months again :)

it was the eris. He eve was in low armor and if I manage to stay few secs longer he would go down too but there is no statements like "almost" and "so close" in eve ;)
