As a Chess and Bridge player, I'd say Bridge is every bit as complex and cerebral as Chess. Any other players?

I read in the newspaper that bridge is very mechanical in bidding & playing. One of the players is even called the dummy. They could probably make a computer program that played bridge well.
Games are fun because of who you play them with.
If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong.

Bidding systems can be as easy or as complex as you like and I could teach you one in an afternoon. Cardplay though is the tricky part, particularly in tournament or Duplicate play and that will take you a lifetime to perfect.

USPSA/IPSC 3-gun challenge

Never heard of it, but anything with USPS and gun in it sounds unwise even if that's not what it's about ... ;-)

My father used to say that not playing to win is like sleeping with your sister. Sure she's a great piece of tail, with a blouse full of goodies, but... it's just illegal. Then you get into that whole inbred thing. Kids with no teeth who do nothing but play the banjo... eat apple sauce through a straw... pork farm animals.

yah, well, you're from chicago. Anything w/ the word gun in it scares you.

Ahha! Another Iain M. Banks fan :D
"Face the facts. Then act on them. It's the only mantra I know, the only doctrine I have to offer you, and it's harder than you'd think, because I swear humans seem hardwired to do anything but. Face the facts. Don't pray, don't wish, don't buy into centuries-old dogma and dead rhetoric. Don't give in to your conditioning or your visions or your fucked-up sense of... whatever. FACE THE FACTS. THEN act."

Truth or dare with 20 18 year old cheerleaders. But then my wife would murder me.
