Seeing as I missed out on the Wolfpack by two people, is it reasonable to hope that 2-3 people may drop or is that very rare?
How often are alternatives needed

I've been following these forums for about a year now. It seems almost every class has at least a couple of people who have to drop in advance, because things come up in real life. Even the 10-man covert ops class had a couple of no-shows; both alternates made it to the one I attended.
The problem might be if it's no-shows rather than notification in advance, because Agony typically unlocks the reading material about a week before the class and only for the paid-and-confirmed students. In the case of a last-minute addition you won't have access to the reading material.
Personally, I think the odds are good you'll be able to attend if you only missed by a couple of spots, but it's not guaranteed.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
