Who else is exicted about the rocket boost coming tommorow? Incoming Vengeances and Maledictions? Even some more Hookbills!

Vengeance will still be slow and terrible, Hookbill will still do low damage and It will still be better to fit standards on skirmishing Maledictions. Should see more pilots flying Hawks as they get a pretty nice buff. Kestrals will be awsome again and Worms could be the new FOTM.

For a long time I was exclusively caldari, and thus exclusively missile based. I tried time after time to find good fits for rockets, to no avail, and to always be beaten by other short-range weapons. I for one am ecstatic at the improvement, a chance to finally put all my hard earned skill points in rockets to good use (lol).

That's Javelin rail ammo though (which is still worthless due to lol range and tracking but same damage as faction antimatter). Javelin rockets do still give velocity penalty...

As far as the changes themselves, i think they're about right. Rockets are now competitive without being overpowered. Their top damage is still lower than turret damage, but it's balanced out by the fact that rockets have no tracking and rocket ships tend to have better tank.

I will be doing the same if I don't train it first. Really looking forward to seeing what the new Hawk can do. Always liked the idea of a proper shield boosting Assault Frig as a solo 1v1 ship and heavy tackler and using the new rockets and bonus you won't have to put up with terrible DPS to use it.

From what i can tell, Hawk still can't really tank and tackle properly at the same time (maybe with a Gistum MSB, but it's a bit too expensive for my taste). But now it can at least do some damage.

I don't think Granger is a good benchmark for ships capabilities. I am fairly sure he gets a hidden bonus to ships he flies.

Someone asked me for the Hawk fit I used to tackle that Vaga: [sp][Hawk, Rockets Faction] Damage Control II Ballistic Control System II Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Small Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 400 Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Thorn Rocket Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Thorn Rocket [empty high slot] Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Thorn Rocket Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Thorn Rocket Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I[/sp] 213 Reps per second against Omni-damage with a Standard Blue Pill and overheat - EFT says the shield booster burns out in 4 min 13 sec... You can fit a Medium Clarity Ward Booster I instead of the faction, but need to go to the Meta 1 scram for CPU, and it doesn't rep quite as hard (174 RPS with blue pill and heat) and is more susceptible to neuting.
