I got a Logitech wireless one now. Battery lasts for maybe 5 hours, recharges in 30 mins or so, can be used on recharge. I can wander off to the kitchen, get a drink and still hear what's happening on the machine upstairs.
The only thing I'd say is that while its perfect for speech, its not for music. Bit lightweight on the bass.
Edit for linkie

I have the wired version of that headset. I can wear it for a few hours comfortably. My ears will ache a bit after a while (5-6 hours straight) from the compression but I have a big head. If you take them off for a few minutes and rest it goes away quickly though. I've only run into that on weekend binge play sessions though.

Edit:
My giant monkey-like ears require large, comfy ear goggles. I had better go try some out in person - how do plantronics rate comfort-wise?
I've gone through a lot of headsets trying to find ones that fit my large ears and are also not uncomfortable to wear for long periods with glasses and the big Plantronics ones are the only ones I've found so far. The ones I use atm are the cheapest closed-ear non-usb variety but I think the headset itself is the same on all the big ones and they're very comfortable.

I have a Creative Fatality headset at work
I've got one of these somewhere and I'm pretty sure it's made of adamantium. If you want a pretty cheap headset that will survive until the heat death of the universe I'd recommend one, not terrible when it comes to comfort or sound quality but not great either.

This.sennheiser headsets are worth their weight in gold. I have run a PC161 for several years now. and several of my corp mates run PC 350s. none of us have had any problems with any of them.
Sennheiser ftw. If you like the way my voice sounds when i bark out orders or call tackle, get a Sennheiser. I also like them because they don't cover my ears completly, helping me stay cool.

I really like the behind the head-band as I can drop it down to my shoulders and actually have a conversation with the wife and not miss something important.
The only draw-back (possibly) is that you have to use the mic on the left side as it doesn't reverse but it is super comfy.

I recently upgraded to The Logitech G330

Very hard to wear when you've got glasses on but otherwise I agree completely with this, that style of headset is one I used to wear (after I went through a lot trying to find one that didn't pinch my ears to hell) all the time before I started having to wear glasses 24/7 to see.
