[blockquote]39,433 votes were cast, compared to 21,787 for CSM4[/blockquote]
Seems like a significant upswing in voter turnout which might not work in my favour

Mmmm sounds rather like "postal voting" in the UK right now

I'd be interested to know why this is.
Because of the status change and general success of CSM 4 increasing people's sense of legitimacy for the CSM?
The number of well known celebrity and or returning candidates?
Eve uni having a candidate again (there's a few thousand votes right there!)
The unorthodox mass marketing techniques employed by some candidates to get their names out?
Timing, length of voting window, ads on the login screen, etc.?
Combination of the above?
I guess we'll never know!
They've also released vote counts for each position (sans names):
[blockquote]Delegates (votes):
1) 4116 (Chair)
2) 3360
3) 2521
4) 2196
5) 1649
6) 1553
7) 1519
8 ) 1463
9) 1260
Alternates (votes):
10) 1180
11) 1173
12) 1172
13) 1104
14) 1006[/blockquote]
For comparison, here are the counts from CSM 4:
[blockquote] * Tomas Ljumovic, "ElvenLord", Serbia, 1553 votes (Chairman)
* Greg Russo, "Alekseyev Karrde", United States, 1234 votes
* John Zastrow, "Zastrow", United States, 1233 votes
* Jason Renouf, "TeaDaze", Guernsey, 1229 votes
* Asher Dratel, "Mrs Trzzbk", United States, 1077 votes
* Andrey Antonov, "Korvin", Russia, 1023 votes
* Denis Descheneaux, "Z0D", United Kingdom, 909 votes
* Jaime Tiampo, "Song Li", Canada, 745 votes
* Tim Heusschen, "Sokratesz", Netherlands, 744 votes
[/blockquote]
And some random numbers:
3.4% - CSM4 percentage of vote received by lowest placed delegate (i.e. the cut-off point)
7.1% - CSM4 percentage of vote received by Chair
3.2% - CSM5 percentage of vote received by lowest placed delegate
10.4% - CSM5 percentage of vote received by Chair
The cut-off point as a percentage of the vote has remained roughly the same, however the spread between the lowest placed delegate to the chair has increased dramatically! In CSM4 many delegates were within spitting distance of each other, this time round the gaps are much more significant.

Me too. You made a name for yourself Tea and doing all the secretary work you probably are the most public known CSM4 delegate, so I would be really shocked if you didn't get more votes this time round than the first time! So even with famous ppl coming back I still hope you'll get in this time as well.I have faith...
/me keeps his fingers crossed
