good seminar. felt a little awkward though. the audience didnt have a common base of reference which made the instruction feel stilted. a simple solution would be to have all previous lectures in the series be part of the required material for review prior to class. PVP basic might also be a good prereq so people understand agony language. On the subject of a series of FC seminars, I like the concept of all of them being public after a live seminar. simply replacing old archives with the new version as its produced. The seminar structure fits well with asynchronous learning. as such the seminar would only be needed to be re done live when the course is updated for changes in game. Perhaps in future structuring the FC seminars around the FC Basic syllabus. structure say four break out seminars based on important points in FC Basic that need more detail or could benefit from added depth. target FC basic for an hour and a half to 2 hours of content plus questions. then each break out topic, such as todays seminar, shoot for an hour to an hour and a half of content plus questions.

My seminar-just-finished-and-I-am-still-digesting-feedback: good seminar, the content needs a bit tightening up. My biggest hurdle to asking questions was that I am simply not in PvP or FC positions often enough (yet) to have good questions. Barret is right in that either PVP Basic class or the FC Basic seminar should be prerequisites - not just for the Agony jargon, but simply to have some background in fleet operations. I am wondering now if there would be audience for a class for people wanting to learn being a Skirmisher? Maybe teaming interested alumni with experienced skirmishers during PVP Basic and Advanced?

Generally good, sort of overlaps into PvP-Basic terminology a bit. Not sure how you'd sort that without making PvP-Basic a pre-req. Perhaps deal a little more with rules of engagement for skirmishers. From the FC's point of view its very easy to forget that small ship fights are generally won/lost within the first 15-30 seconds. From the skirmishers point of view its very annoying waiting for a go/no go call when you've probably already lost. On the limited occasions I've had skirmishers at my disposal I tell them that if they can kill the target within 60 seconds then just do it and tell me once the fight is underway. Its obviously situational and depends on skirmishers' skill but I'd rather let skirmishers make the call if at all possible. If nothing else it attracts less attention having a couple of inties/AFs kill something than the gang descending on it. A very pleasant Sunday afternoon - thanks Spin.

I really enjoyed the seminar. A good mix of general principles and specific examples. I'm glad it was recorded, so that I can go back for the things I missed the first time through. (I need to listen to the first FC seminar, too.)

In fact, the seminar was so good that I've been moved to haiku:

Scouts and skirmishers

PS I second Druur's idea about pairing interested alumni with Agony skirmishers during Basic and other roams. I'd sign up for sure.
