I watched the match live and well, what can I say, Hydra certainly entertained. But kudos on luring their FC out of bounds (he claims he went on purpose, lol right). And I truly am glad you guys have the points to stay in the game. The Hydra trolling will die down and eventually even the most clueless pod pilots will know Agony did no wrong. Fake edit: hey, the forums are back up!

That was one weird match indeed. Props to Zappa for finding a way to fight to the end. Hope you guys will meet again in the finals and give them some proper kicking 8)

I believe that Verone was supposed to be commentating the first session but had a technical issue in Match 1 so Kil2 took over. To suggest that Hydra planned to have Kil2 commentating that session is a stretch.


As to our match, Hydra stomped us then made it look like we took their offer. Of course Agony didn't pay them, we don't have that kind of isk to throw around. Hydra wanted and planned to get a second round match in the "losing" bracket instead of fighting another top flight team which is pretty much what PL did in AT7. And who is running the Hydra team? The PL captain from AT7 that's who


The only thing we could have done to counter grief them would have been for our proteus to go out of bounds after their command ship was destroyed when they started to self destruct their ships. We would have scored points for the command ship so whilst needing to win next week we would at least have had points to put us above teams who killed nothing. That would have forced Hydra to fight PL or another top flight team next week.

It is unlikely, but they might lose next week anyway which would be pretty hilarious

Fair dues - Genos played it superbly, both in-game and metagaming. I just think it was brilliantly done - obviously arranged in advance but that doesn't take anything away from how it was done. Hopefully they took a shedload of cash from the bookies as well. Those of us who know Agony know you didn't pay the ISK - doesn't really matter though as people will remember what is easiest and that's : 1) Offer made; 2) Hydra/Genos ships blow up; 3) 2+2=? Superbly done though - its all of the reasons we play Eve in just a few minutes of video. Sadly you're on the receiving end of it this time. You'll just have to go on and win it now if you want people to remember the right things

I think it sucks that they are allowed to take such a lie to be commentated and also seem to be taken as "gospel truth" by ccp. I mean - ccp COULD check who made that deposit. My money is on Gob or one of his alts.

That's half the fun of it Cath Anyone with half a brain can see that they never intended to win the first matchup - and 3 bill isn't enough to throw a fight. Eve isn't supposed to be fair - in-game or meta-game. That's the fun (and challenge) of it.

People will believe what they want to believe, which in most cases will be what they find the most intriguing / exciting / infuriating.

Hydra only got the opportunity for all this drama by spanking us hard though - with one ship and eight pods we had little control over what happened next! ;-)

Besides our hero Proteus causing at least one of their ships to go out of bounds of course...

Like I posted on Eve-O, nothing we say is going to convince anyone. All we can do is ask them to look at the evidence provided and make up their own minds. At the end of the day, it's not going to affect Agony very much. Sure our reputation took a bruising, but bruises heal over time. I remember a time when one of our own pilots caused a sensation in the tournament by self destructing (last man standing, stalemate, commentator offers ISK to end it, Ash self destructs). But I doubt a lot of the Eve community remember the specifics of that.
